The MET Costume Gala 2012: Highlights of the Night [PHOTOS]
It's not every day that fans get to see their favorite Hollywood celebrities dress up and hit the red carpet. Yet, the New York's Met Costume Institute Gala 2012 held last night was filled with only the best.
From A-list celebrities to Fashion Moguls, here are all the highlights held at the Metropolitan Museum.
Silver sequined gowns to black laced attires filled the red carpet sightings. The arrival of People's Sexiest Woman, Beyonce, may have caused a paparazzi frenzy given her almost see-through black laced gown. Keeping it simple was Singer, Lana Del Ray in a silver studded gown by Joseph Altazurra paired off with a black cape. Another singer that made it to the red carpet event was Bruno Mars. Ironically, Bruno was wearing a pair of shades at the evening event.
"Vampire Diaries" star, Nina Dobrev made an appearance sans her beau, Ian Somerhalder. Yet, the lovely actress managed to keep all eyes on her even without Ian with her black and gold gown by designer, Donna Karen.
Taking a break from all the "Avengers Assemble" hype was Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson. The blonde bombshell opted for a sequined peach to pink gown by Dolce and Gabbana.
Another highlight of the night was the appearance of Amber Heard. Rather than a female partner by her side, Amber attended the event with Zac Posen. The two looked like wedding cake figurines with their matching purple attires.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," Rooney Mara, also took a break from her busy schedule to attend the event. The 27-year-old donned a one-shoulder black laced dress by Givenchy.
18-year-old actress, Dakota Fanning, also appeared at the red carpet. Taking a hint from Amber Heard, Dakota donned a lavender gown by Louis Vuitton. The actresses' sister, Elle Fanning, however, was not in attendance.
Fashion moguls, Gisele Bunchen and Heidi Klum, also graced the gala and both models wore a black theme for the night. Gisele sauntered down the red carper in a black figure-hugging gown by Givenchy. On the other hand, Heidi Klum kept it simple in black-laced attire by Escada. "Jet's" quarterback, Tim Tebow was not one to miss the event.
"I'm just so blessed to be here," said Tebow in an interview with Vogue Magazine.
Other celebrities who made it to the event include "Twilights" leading lady, Kristen Stewart, "Mad Men's" January Jones and a few others.
