Lupita Nyong'o is one of the most talked-about new talents in Hollywood. She appeared in "12 Years A Slave" which won her Best Supporting Actress at the recent Academy Awards - Oscars 2014. She was also recently named "Most Beautiful Woman" by People magazine.

"It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," she had commented on her front cover of People magazine.

Lupita Nyong'o joined other stars in New York for the Met Gala 2014 event. Being named as "Most Beautiful Woman," viewers understandably had high expectations on her appearance at the event.

However, Lupita took the risk and really had people talking about her even more, when she arrived at the Met Gala on Monday wearing the most daring ensembles on the red carpet.

Nyong'o arrived in a Prada, flapper-esque dress, which according to VanityFair caused an outcry on Twitter. The Prada creation featured emerald beads on a netted design and the actress wore it over a brown slip dress. Vogue said of the actress that "she can do no wrong" but Twitter fans contested saying "yes she can." Likewise, Grazia magazine asked viewers for their opinion on the dress, in which one said "She looks like an extra from 'Lost,'" the hit tv series.

The edgy, 1920's style flapper ensemble, which some said was characteristic of her Nairobian heritage, definitely had people giving mix reviews.

Meanwhile some viewers took time to comment on online articles and express their dislike over Lupita Nyong's outfit. It is unclear whether other stars are envious of the dress, or of Lupita Nyong for being daring in wearing the Prada creation.
