‘Metal Gear Solid 5’: Employs A Terrifying Decoy, 'Silent Hills' Ghost Stuns Enemies
Kojima recently revealed a demo video of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain," where a surprising character was spotted. Lisa, the terrifying ghost from the playable teaser for the new "Silent Hills," was seen in "MGS5." Polygon claims the 5th game franchise was demoed at the Tokyo Game Show where it clearly revealed a 7-foot ghost. Lisa will reportedly make a special appearance in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" when it's released.
As seen on the video below, fans can clearly see an apparition materialising from out of nowhere. However, Lisa supposedly doesn't show up on her own will. The site claims she can be summoned using a device labeled "active decoy." Apparently, the ghost proves helpful when it comes to warding off enemies in a frightening way. Snake summons her as a form of distraction. As seen on the video, he throws a tire-like inflatable device at his opponents before Lisa pops out to stun them.
"Snake's opponents are rendered dumb by her [Lisa] seven-foot-tall, eye-gouged appearance," according to Polygon writer Danielle Riendeau. Additionally, Game Spot points out her horrific crying sounds as another form of distraction. Lisa's ghost can likewise prove handy with those enemies who are standing at the edge of a cliff.
Furthermore, the extent of Lisa's effectiveness as a "decoy" clearly calls for a triple distraction, literally. A demo clip provided by Polygon shows three rows of Lisas. One of the ghosts was reportedly used to scare off a wolf but to no avail. Game Spot identified the animal as Snake's one-eyed wolf friend.
A "Silent Hills" character's appearance in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" is reportedly Hideo Kojima's way of promoting his new version of the nightmare game, so it's understandable why Lisa would be a special appearance in "MGS5."
Both "Silent Hills" and "MGS5" are due for release sometime in 2015 for the PS4. "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will also be released for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PC.
