Michael Buble visits 'Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark"
Michael Bublé has been spotted putting his arms around Reeve Carney and Patrick Page Sunday in camaraderie at the first anniversary celebration of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" at the Foxwoods Theatre in New York City.
The 36-year-old crooner went backstage to meet the cast and crew and to wish them a happy first year. Despite all the controversy on changing directors, drama with the show being slated to open then abruptly closing and unfortunate accidents that have plagued the show, it remains strong and has a solid following.
"Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" began preview performances on Nov. 28 of last year, and has rapidly become one of the most renowned theatrical events in Broadway records. It has since been seen by an upwards of 600,000 people from all over the world.
The show is also a regular attraction for celebrities such as Matt Damon, Robert DeNiro and Liam Neeson, to name a few. Mega mogul Oprah Winfrey and personality Glenn Buckley have also given the show rave reviews.
Inspired by close to 50 years of the Marvel comic book series of the same name, "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" is about the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unexceptional life is turned upside-down (so to speak) when he's bitten by a genetically transformed arachnid.
Parker gets up the next morning sticking to his bedroom ceiling and finds out that he has more than just puberty to deal with now. The previously bullied nerd is unexpectedly endowed with incredible powers and soon understands that with great power comes great responsibility.
Buble's newest album, "Christmas," is set to reach the number one spot on the Billboard 200. "Christmas" is on course to sell around anywhere between 250,000 to 270,000.
