Michael Douglas is blaming oral sex for his throat cancer. The survivor claims that he suffered from the malignant disease not because of his past alcohol and drug addiction, but because he engaged in cunnilingus.

The 68-year-old Academy Award-winning actor, who was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer in 2010, responded to an interview, wherein he was asked if he got the disease from too much drinking and smoking.

"No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus, he told The Guardian.

"From cunnilingus. I mean, I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it."

Judging by the interview, it's safe to say that he has a healthy sexual appetite. Douglas is married to fellow Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones since November 2000.

However, back in 2010 when he was undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, Douglas admitted that while he believed his personal crisis was the reason for his ailment, his unhealthy lifestyle contributed to it as well.

"I smoked cigarettes and I drank and this particular type of cancer is caused by alcohol... (but) it's been a long year and I do think this is stress related," he told David Letterman on his "Late Show."

By that time, he was battling his ex-wife in court over his salary from his film "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," and he was also worried about his son Cameron's incarceration over drug charges.

Douglas currently stars in "Behind the Candelabra" alongside Matt Damon. He plays famed pianist Liberace, while Damon played his young lover Scott Thorson. It aired last week on HBO in the U.S.
