In most cases, home health care doesn't need to cost as much as the care when a patient is confined and being treated in a hospital. Michael Schumacher's family reportedly pays a hefty bill for a total of 15 medical staff who fill the essential roles for the German Formula One (F1) champion's home care to ensure that he gets the appropriate nursing care.

Michael's home health care reportedly costs more than $160,000 per week, according to the Daily Star. It is the estimated cost for Michael's medical staff's salaries and medical equipment rental. It has been previously conveyed that Michael's medical team at home consist of doctors, nurses, medical aids, and various physical therapists.

Michael's family has successfully managed the difficult and challenging times. Michael's wife Corinna and two kids, Gina Marie and Mick, all have stood by him and spent long hours at his bedside.

Now, it is said that Michael's father Rory will be moving from Germany to be near his son as the seven time world-champion continues to recuperate and battle for a second chance to live a normal life, the Daily Star further reported.

In December, Michael and his family went on a skiing trip at a French resort. He was skiing when he fell and hit a rock. Michael reportedly underwent surgeries to remove the bleeding in his brain. Later on, he was put in a medically-induced coma.

In June, it was announced that Michael has woken up from a coma and eventually he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Lausanne, Switzerland. On Sept. 9, Michael's manager Sabine Kehm said in a statement that the F1 champion will continue his rehabilitation in his private villa in Lake Geneva.

While Michael's return seems a good sign for his health and recovery, Kehm has said that the 45-year-old still faces a "long and difficult road ahead." Michael's family had requested the general public to stop speculating about his health and thanked the fans for their unwavering support to the German ace.
