The racing legend Michael Schumacher is fighting for his life after a tragic ski accident. Right now, his beautiful family is by his side. The 44-year old fastest man in the world fell in love with Corinna Betsch and married her in 1995. The couple has two children, Gina-Maria (born 1997) and Mick (born 1999). The family was holidaying together in French Alps when the freak accident happened.

The Formula 1 racing enthusiast has always been very protective of his private life and is seldom seen in public like other celebrities. The peace loving family moved to a house near Gland, Switzerland in 2007. Michael's family live in a sprawling 7000 sq feet house in Lake Geneva which has its own underground garage and petrol station.

Michael has been known for his charitable nature and donated huge amounts of money whenever there was a need. The F1 driver donated £5m to the Asian tsunami relief fund, which has been touted as the biggest single donation by an individual.

The racing man who is known for his aggression over the race track is ironically known for his compassion at home. The family has five dogs, including a stray dog that they family found at the Brazilian Grand Prix several years ago. Michael also enjoys football in Norway, which happens to be his second home and also played for FC Echichens.

Skiing was his second love and he is in fact an expert in the sport. But who knows that the sport that he enjoyed so much would turn out to be the cause of worry for him. According to BBC news, his entire family including his manager, Sabine Kehm are in a state of shock at the Grenoble hospital.

"The family is not doing very well, obviously. They are shocked," said Sabine Kehm to reporters.

"Corinna is freaking out," says a source to the local newspaper. "She's staying strong for the sake of the kids, but she's fearing the worst."

The German motor enthusiast is said to be in critical condition and in medical coma after he fell and hit his head on a rock while skiing with his son. He was wearing a helmet at the time of accident but still suffered badly. He was airlifted to hospital in Grenoble, 80 miles west, where he was conscious. Schumacher had been skiing off-piste with his teenage son when he fell and hit a hard rock hot on his head. Let's wish Michael a speedy recovery.
