Michelle Obama's Advice for Justin Bieber’s Parents
U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has spoken what she would be doing if she was one of Justin Bieber's parents. The 19-year-old Canadian pop heartthrob has managed to stay atop of the headlines recently because of all the outrages that he has gotten himself into - from partying with strippers, drag racing, and alcohol abuse, just to name a few.
Obama thinks that Justin could use some parental guidance at this point in his life right now, ABC News reported. The Web site stated that Obama had an interview with Univision Radio host Enrique Santos, and she was asked about her thoughts on Bieber's case.
"I would pull him close," said Obama.
"I would be very present in his life right now, and I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what's going on in his head, to figure out who's in his life and who's not, you know."
Parenting teens is probably one of the daunting tasks that parents could face in life. At some point in time, teens would demand their freedom and liberation. However, parents should make sure that their growing children get adult direction and not just let them flee away on their own when they feel like it. This is maybe the message that Obama wants to put across.
"I found that to be that case with my kids," said the First Lady.
"They just want you near, you know, they want that advice from a parent."
"He's still a kid, he's still growing up, so I would pull him close," were Obama's last words of advice.
Obama is aware of what troubled teens are going through. She has been attending youth events just to inspire teens that are currently going through tough and emotional issues in life. Her advice is undoubtedly worth considering. Staying in touch with your child while allowing sufficient room for growth is a perplexing situation. However, growing children still need parents' guidance as much as they did when they were younger.
Obama did not comment on the topic of certain legal issues involving Justin - whether or not the Canadian singer could be sent back to his country if found guilty of the charges he is currently facing.
