Hollywood actress Michelle Williams read Marilyn Monroe's book Fragments to prepare for the role. Williams portrays the actress in a new movie My Week With Marilyn.

"Oh, isn't that a beautiful book? You know that was an auspicious day on set," Williams told PopEater.

"We were filming at Park Side House, which is where she stayed when she was in London, and it was our first day there and it was the day the book came out and there are notes in the book written on Park Side House stationary. "

The book Fragments is an unprecedented collection of written artefacts from Marilyn Monroe, such as notes to herself, letters, poems in Marilyn's own handwriting and rarely seen intimate photographs. It contains texts "jotted in notebooks, typed on paper, or written on hotel letterhead" such as the one from Park Side House Stationary. (See the slideshow and details about the book Fragments here).

In the new movie, William stars as Marilyn Monroe with Kenneth Branagh as Olivier. Julia Ormond will play actress Vivien Leigh while Dame Judi Dench will take on the role of Dame Sybil Thorndike.

The new movie is based on My Week with Marilyn. It follows a week in the life of Marilyn Monroe as she escapes to the United Kingdom away from Hollywood. Monroe is oriented to 1950s British pleasures by an assistant on the The Prince and the Showgirl set.
