Businesspeople who uses Microsoft OneDrive for their cloud storage can soon get more value for their money after software magnate Microsoft announced in a blog entry entitled "Thinking Outside the Box" that the company will increase of storage space of their corporate clients from 25GB to 1TB per user.

In addition to the increased storage capacity, businesses can now take advantage of Microsoft's promotional offer on the standalone OneDrive for as low as $2.5 per user per month which will run until September 2014. OneDrive was originally pegged at $5 per user with the original cloud storage allotment.

In the same manner, customers who are subscribed to Office 365 ProPlus will also avail of 1GB of storage space per user for their OneDrive cloud storage. Customers under this plan pay $12 per user per month for their access to different applications on desktop office.

According to an article on Zdnet, business entities with subscriptions on All O365 E plans (E1, E3, E4), O365 Small Business, O365 Small Business Premium, O365 Midsize Business, All SharePoint Online plans (SharePoint Online Plan 1 & Plan 2), and OneDrive for Business (standalone) with Office Online will all experience the additional 1TB cloud storage.

For those organizations who utilize other cloud storage like Box, Dropbox, or other service providers, they can also take advantage of Microsoft's offering to provide assistance in migrating their data to OneDrive.

Eligible existing companies and customers can already contact Microsoft for to fast-track the additional features about their respective plans. However, the actual roll-out will only commence in the months to come so interested business entities may also opt to wait until then.

Meanwhile, consumer accounts who enjoy free 7GB cloud storage can also subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 or get the standalone OneDrive package in order to avail of the bigger cloud storage.

As Microsoft Corporate Vice President John Case stated in the blog: "The cloud is about breaking down walls between people and information. Not building a new set of islands in the sky. Make sure you bet on a file sync and share solution that helps you embrace that."
