Miley Cyrus Calls Ed Sheeran an ‘A—hole’ at the MTV VMA 2014 – Report [VIDEO]
Miley Cyrus isn’t a fan of Ed Sheeran. The 21-year-old former Disney star reportedly called the English singer-songwriter an “a—hole” as he was about to receive his moon man at the MTV Video Music Awards.
On Sunday night in the U.S., Sheeran’s “Sing,” featuring Pharrell Williams, won the Best Male Video, besting fellow nominees John Legend, Sam Smith, Williams and Eminem.
As he was heading up to the VMA stage, he passed by Cyrus, who mouthed something that appears to be a foul word at him.
Several sites have tried to analyse what Cyrus told Sheeran during that brief moment, and they came up with “a—hole.”
The gifs showing the said incident appear grainy at best; it’s difficult to ascertain what Cyrus really said. However, based on the way she looked at him, it wasn’t “congratulations.”
Here’s the video:
The two young singers aren’t exactly the best of friends in the industry.
Following Cyrus’ controversial VMA performance with Robin Thicke in 2013, Sheeran, 23, didn’t hold back his candid assessment of Cyrus’ cringe-worthy twerking.
“It’s a stripper’s move,” he told The Mirror. “If I had a daughter of nine, I wouldn’t want her twerking.”
He also went after Cyrus’ music video for “Wrecking Ball,” in which the ex-child star is nude and riding a giant wrecking ball.
“When I first heard ‘Wrecking Ball,’ I thought it was a brilliant song,” the Grammy Award-nominated artist said. “But the video distracts too much from it.”
Sheeran backtracked on his words, tweeting later, “Something said in jest when i was drunk is being misquoted now, just wanna make it clear i genuinely like mileys music a lot.”
So whether or not Cyrus has forgiven Sheeran for the diss remains unknown, as is the word she mouthed off to him at the VMA.
