He was the first one to Tweet in support of his daughter even when the whole world was busy criticising her raunchy and sleazy MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night performance. Now when the topic is still fresh, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus' dad is still very much on her side and says he fully supports her actions with or without twerking!

Miley Cyrus was ridiculed, criticised and even made fun of for her skin colour underwear performance where she was seen grinding on Robin Thicke's crotch and sticking her tongue out suggestively.

"Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait (to) see her when she gets home," Billy Ray told Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O Dell.

"She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out," he continued. "I love her unconditionally and that will never change."

The 20-year-old pop star performed on her new single "We Can't Stop" with Robin's "Blurred Lines" and it has become the most talked about performance of the MTV VMA. The former Hannah Montana star stripped down to nothing but a skin-colored bikini and simulated sex with a foam finger too.

Her father is of the opinion that the hype will soon die down about her performance. But the Parents Television Council has slammed the host MTV for allowing Miley's crotch-grabbing performance to be aired citing it inappropriate for teenagers.

"MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate 'twerking' in a nude-coloured bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?" they said in a statement.

According to People magazine, it's ironic that Billy Ray Cyrus is an advisory board member for the Parents Television Council.

Miley however seemed unaffected by the whole criticism and was rather seen Tweeting about its "success."

"Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute. That's more than the blackout or Superbowl!, (sic)" she recently tweeted.

Though Miley has yet to come out and talk about why she did that racy performance, Thicke called the performance a "dope."

"That was dope. Shout out to @MileyCyrus," he Tweeted after the performance. Miley has achieved what she had targeted for - attention through all mediums - Internet, from newspapers and even her peers.
