People might think that it is awkward that Bieber is mentored by Cyrus as they both are riding the same boat. But in a recent interview with "Rolling Stone," Miley Cyrus revealed that she acts as a guide to Justin Bieber.

Both Bieber and Cyrus have been making headlines for good as well as bad reasons. Talking about bad, Bieber is known for turning up late to concerts, while Cyrus raised eyebrows by twerking sexually with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 20-year-old singer Miley Cyrus said that she had been in the entertainment business a little longer than her buddy Bieber. So, she is all game for advices to him.

"I'm not much older than him, so I never want it to feel like I'm mentoring him," Cyrus said.

"But I do mentor him in a way. Because I've been doing this shit for a long time, and I already transitioned, and I don't think he's quite done it yet," she continued on the Bieber issue.

She mentioned that they don't actually hang around like friends much, but she cared a lot for him and respected his art form and him as an artist.

"He's trying really hard," she said on how hard he is trying to make a mark in the industry. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing."

"I just don't want to see him f**k that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start s**t. Don't come in shirtless.'"

In the end, Miley Cyrus said, "I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."
