Miley Cyrus keeps mum about Liam Hemsworth’s denial of their engagement, promotes charitable work instead

Fans of Miley Cyrus are eagerly anticipating her reaction to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth’s latest bombshell, but the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s lips are still zipped about the matter.

Instead, the 23-year-old singer took to Instagram to promote her latest charitable work, partnering with designer Marc Jacobs and feminist artist Marilyn Minter to raise funds for Planned Parenthood.

In her Instagram account, Cyrus posted an article that states 50 exclusive portraits of the singer courtesy of Minter will be sold on Artsy for US$5,500 (AU$7,120). Jacobs, on the other hand, will be selling t-shirts indicating that they support Planned Parenthood for US$50 (AU$65). All proceeds of the sales will go to the women’s health organisation.

This week, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth has flat out denied that he is engaged to singer Miley Cyrus, putting an end to reports that have circulating the past few months.

In an interview with TV Week Australia, the “Hunger Games” star set the records straight about his relationship with the “Wrecking Ball” singer. “I am not engaged, no,” the 26-year-old actor said. This, despite the two being seen dating in public in various occasions. Cyrus also was spotted visiting Hemsworth in Australia for New Year.

The reports were further fuelled when Cyrus posted a selfie in Instagram while was wearing a green polka dot outfit with matching hat and a pink coat. While she poked fun of herself and what she’s wearing, what’s more noticeable is the diamond ring that she flaunted.

Those who saw the photo observe that the ring looks very similar to the one Cyrus received in 2012 from Australian actor Hemsworth. Cyrus and Hemsworth first started dating in 2009 while filming “The Last Song.” The two got engaged in June 2012 and even lived together for over a year. However, the celebrity couple broke off in September 2014.

During his TV Week Australia interview, Hemsworth also revealed why he’s keeping a low profile. “For the last few months because I had a back injury I really couldn’t do much. So I have honestly been at my house most of the time.”

Despite Hemsworth’s denial that he is engaged to Cyrus, the two are considered seriously dating. PR assistant Kayla Hockman recently wrote on Twitter, “Miley and Liam are totes back together, FYI.” She also posted selfies with both of them, confirming their appearance at “The Huntsman” premiere night in Los Angeles, US. The movie stars Hemsworth’s brother, Chris. Hockman wrote, “For all of you assuming I tell lies…”
