Miley never fails to make a statement, even on how she uses the gifts bestowed to her by fans. Over the weekend, the "We Cant Stop" singer crafted a 5-foot-tall bong using fans' gifts. Her picture is said to suggest that smoking bong is actually cool, which probably will not sit well with her fans' parents. This puts her in a precarious position, considering that parents are currently raging against MTV for her unforgettable 2013 performance, even after all this time. Reportedly, her performance with Robin Thicke last year is still quite fresh in the minds of her young fans' parents.

Miley Cyrus got busy over the weekend doing something ingenious with the horde of gifts she received and treasured from fans over the years: all sorts of colorful bracelets and small toys. Her crafty side showed as she crafted a homemade, 5-foot bong from all these. She posted the soon-to-be-completed outcome as well as video of the process on her Instagram account with the caption "Werk in progress."

"5 foot bong almost complete this one is a collab with my f--king beyond kiewl fanz," said Miley on her Instagram.

Some parents who are still rallying over Miley's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance will see this as another incident that warrants attention. As the 2014 MTV VMA nears, parents are now allying against the network to make sure that last year's performance by Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke will not happen on this year's VMA.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that through a letter, the parents asked that MTV be more wary of what they show to the young people.

"While last year's Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke performance garnered most of the headlines after the fact, the sexually charged and otherwise inappropriate content of the show was not limited to them. Even more troubling was ... that MTV still applied a TV-14 rating to the program, despite other adult-oriented performances and advertising messages. Such a rating was simply unacceptable to the families who depend on the television ratings system to be applied accurately and to the millions of families whose children are marketed to by MTV. The 2013 VMAs were a public relations kerfuffle for your network that I feel certain you will not wish to repeat," wrote the parents.

Aside from making their feelings known, the parents want MTV to take several proactive steps to reassure that no such performance will occur. These steps include MTV making several public commitments. Parents want MTV to commit publicly that no explicit sexual content present in last year's show will happen this year, that no violations of violate MTV/Viacom's own standards will take place, and that the network will rate the program accurately and in accordance with the TV Parental Guidelines, so that indecent language and performances will be avoided.
