When Miley Cyrus appeared on "Saturday Night Live" as host and musical guest, there was no twerking involved. But, still her episode turned out to be funnier than Tina Fey's season opener.

The best moment of the show was when she appeared as a Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in a mocking video about the government shutdown.

The short video featured her tune "We Can't Stop" as she mocked the government shutdown. She sang "We Did Stop (The Government)."

Miley Cyrus was also mocked - a rare affair for a host - in a parody featuring a man (Kenan Thompson) living in a devastating time which is the reflection of Miley's MTV Video Music Awards performance. The man blamed it for intiating the sad demise of America.

Hands of the clock move anticlockwise and we go back in time, the scene from Miley's dressing room right before her controversial performance. Vanessa Bayer appeared as the future version of Miley Cyrus and warned her about the repercussions of the ghastly performance.

During a monologue performance, Miley said that she is in no mood to apologise for her twerking performance at MTV VMA with Robin Thicke.

"I don't apologize for my VMA performance. If I owe anyone apology, it's the people who make the bottom half of shirts," Miley said, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"But I can give you an update of what she's up to," she added. "She was murdered."

In the show she performed two songs from her latest album "BANGERZ" - "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop."

She did the acoustic version of "We Can't Stop" and remained seated for this particular song.

The show also did a skit on "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting by showing the lost audition tapes of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
