Miley Cyrus was the latest celebrity to fall victim to a death hoax. Miley supposedly died over the past weekend and social media quickly picked up on the hoax after fans noted that the pop star was unusually quiet on her social media sites. Miley always knows how to make a statement and that she did by debunking the death hoax by posting a topless photo on her Instagram site.
Miley posted a photo of herself with her back turned away from the camera with a full view of her naked back. She had on only a pair of high-waisted daisy dukes and apparently nothing else except an elastic holding her blonde hair up in a bun on top of her head. She had her arms out with both hands making the peace sign. The photo has a desert backdrop with the beautiful landscape captured clearly in the background of the topless singer's image.
The death hoax came out over the weekend on social media site Facebook where a link was shared around stating that Miley had been found dead of an apparent drug overdose in her Los Angeles home. The link redirects to a site that offers money for completing online surveys.
Miley, who is very active on social media helped fuel the flames by refraining from making any social media posts over the entire weekend with. The topless Instagram post came out on Monday, July 21, 2014 which quickly killed the hoax.
The "Wrecking Ball" hit maker is currently in the middle of her "Bangerz World Tour" and has just finished the European leg. She is enjoying a short break at the moment and obviously enjoying some down time in the desert. The tour resumes in less than two weeks with the singer starting her North and South American tour in New York.
The controversial but highly successful and bankable singer will also be vying for a pair of MTV video music awards on August 24 for her hit single "Wrecking Ball" where she also leaves nothing for the imagination as she swings around naked on top of a staged wrecking ball for the video.
