Miley Cyrus Promotes Anti-Violence In Red Carpet, Goes Daring Onstage in MTV EMAs
Miley Cyrus takes her daring streak and signature twerk to another continent as she appears in this year's MTV Europe Music Awards held in Amsterdam.
The "Seven Things" singer paraded the event's red carpet in a halter backless mini-dress with a plunging neckline and features the faces of deceased rappers Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace and Tupac "2Pac" Shakur. The look is topped off with silver accessories and a thigh-high checkerprint boots.
The dress also includes the words, "Please Stop Violence" printed throughout the skirt of her mini-dress. It would seem as if she is advocating an anti-violence cause with her fashion statement.
Earlier in the day, Miley posted a selfie on her Instagram account, where she is wearing full makeup, her necklaces and nothing else, which appears to be a preview of her look for the EMAs that evening.
Onstage, Miley showed the twerk to European audiences as she opened the show with "We Can't Stop" while twerking a female dwarf donned in skintight black suit. She also followed the inter-galactic theme of the awards night by while wearing a long-sleeved silver spandex turtleneck dress paired with equally shining silver sneakers and a rocket microphone.
The 20-year-old singer maintained her daring pace despite the somber mood while singing "Wrecking Ball" in her next onstage appearance. Against a video backdrop of herself crying, she sang in a white leotard with sheer sleeves and high-cut legholes, a gold chain belt and white platform shoes.
But highlight of her appearance is when she accepted the Best Video award while wearing a white fur jacket on top of her leotard and clutching a Chanel purse. That purse apparently has a purpose as she takes out a lighter and a stick, purses the latter into her lips then lights it. And then she puffs, to the delight of the European crowd.
