In an exclusive clip released by MTV News, controversial Miley Cyrus spoke for the first time about the people's reaction on her equally controversial twerking performance with Robin Thicke.

"Me and Robin [Thicke,] the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now," Miley explained.

As for those who criticised her, she had this to say.

"What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're over thinking it. You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."

For her, at age 20, she knows more about her history of the pop music.

"I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. Every VMA performance, that's what you're looking for; you're wanting to make history."

It seemed like Miley fans, haters as well, are into more surprising "history-making" act in the future.

Meanwhile, Miley is filming a documentary that will chronicle the depths of her transformation from being the sweetheart she had been until to what she has become in the light of launching the We Can't Stop album.

The said documentary is being created by award-winning MTV news and Docs team.

In a July 2013 interview with the documentary's producer Pharell, he said that Miley has Southern charm and hospitability which makes her irresistible to fans. Pharell also shared that the documentary will be about who Miley really is.

"It's just gonna sound like her and her influences, but it's not that hip-hop heavy. That's not what she does, that's not where she comes from. It's a part of what she loves, which is a very big difference," Pharell explained.

As for Miley, she just want the people to love her music.

"Like the song says, we can love who we want. I'm really free about the way I feel and who I am. Of course, I want people to love my music, but it's like, at the end of the day I make music for me. I make music 'cause I love it and I know, like I said, I put good energy into it. I want to make this song the biggest song in the world."
