Miley Cyrus' VMA 2013 act has become a rage so much so that she over shadowed Justin Timberlake's big win at MTV awards.

Miley grabbed eyeballs with her shockingly provocative performance which left her fans as well as celebs embarrassed. Miley grabbed her crotch and used a foam hand to draw attention to her crotch while performing on the stage.

While Justin Timberlake did not use any such tactics while performing on the stage, is this why he lost in the popularity battle to Miley?

According to The Age, Cyrus's performance sent the internet into overdrive and her twerking soggy bum got all the ladies talking. The question here is why we are lured to such raunchy and bizarre acts of VMA 2013 more than the winners of VMA 2013? Is it social media which makes it such a titillating act? No doubt Twitter is overloaded with comments on Miley's performance.

The purpose of any musical award show is to recognize the best musical talent of the year, however in VMA 2013, Justin Timberlake, who took several awards home and gave a fantastic reunion performance with N'Sync was surpassed by Miley's weird and dirty dancing.

Also, why no one is talking about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis who took home three awards or why are we talking about Selena's revealing Versace Dress and not about her big win at the VMA 2013?

Is it becasue celebrities, especially Miley, cross all boundaries for publicity? And why not, when adult content is the most popular thing today. At VMA 2013, Miley certainly proved that nothing can surpass an X-rated performance . Even if you gain notoriety for it, you will be talked about. Are we to blame for it? We as the audience like talking more about Miley's adult dance than Justin's big win?
