We all know that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are no longer a couple. They announced their split some time ago but their four year old relationship was on the rocks much before that, a new report suggests. There was a reason why Miley and Liam kept their relationship going for a little longer. Find out why.

According to a news report published in OK magazine, the 20-year-old singer kept her relationship with fiancé Liam going for months even though they were having problems, as she feared that she may be expecting Liam's baby then. Miley wanted to clear her doubt on pregnancy and asked Liam to wait till she gets a confirmed report of her test.

The magazine reports that Miley had got a false positive report and was almost convinced she and Liam are having a baby. "Miley thought she was expecting and wanted to announce it to the world, even before she went to the doctor to verify the results," a friend told OK! magazine.

Liam had lost out on his fiancé when she wanted to go public on the announcement and had a hard time forcing the singer to keep mum on the news till she is fully convinced.

"Liam begged her not to go public yet. He was emotionally out of the romance for months by that point, though he was still sleeping with her. She agreed to stay quiet for Liam's sake," the source explained.

TMZ also posted a video of the "Wrecking Ball" singer paying a late night visit to doctor with a caption "Miley Cyrus showed up to a doctor's office on Bedford last night, but why? Pregnancy scare? Inspector Dax to the rescue!" However it turned out that the singer had laryngitis.

"Miley essentially trapped Liam in the relationship, telling him that if he left her alone, she'd tell the world that he had abandoned her at such a delicate time," reports OK magazine.

"She begged him to stay and said that he could have his space, as long as he didn't break up with her. So Liam obliged. He got his freedom and she got the right to say they were still engaged," said the magazine's source.

But the alarm for pregnancy turned out to be false and a doctor's report confirmed that Miley was indeed safe and not pregnant. The couple then announced their breakup through their respective representatives.
