Miley Cyrus' raunchy performance at the VMAs may have shaken the Internet, got her bad reviews and even dented her image.

However the 20-year-old star's manager, Larry Rudolph, is calling the event a success and is happy with the outcome. What is more surprising is that Miley's mother Tish was also cheering backstage when she was busy simulating sex with that foam finger.

"We were all cheering from the side of the stage," Rudolph told US Weekly. The "we" here includes Miley's mother Tish, the newspaper reports.

The "We Can't Stop" singer's manager said Miley "could not have" done better than this and he has got excellent reviews form Miley's fan who have understood the performance and the rest of the world "eventually will."

"It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will."

Miley's dad country singer Billy Ray earlier said in an interview that he too is on her side and says that he will always be her "little girl" no matter how much the world criticize her.

"Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait (to) see her when she gets home," Billy Ray told Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O Dell earlier.

"She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out," he continued. "I love her unconditionally and that will never change."

Her real life mother might be cheering for Miley backstage but her reel life mother from Hannah Montana was not happy about Miley's raunchy performance at the MTV awards. Brooke Shields, who played Miley's long-lost mother in the hit Disney television series said, "I was Hannah Montana's mother. I don't approve."

"She can sing beautifully, and I feel like if she lets that lead, rather than let her bottoms lead... I feel like it's a bit desperate," Shields said talking on Today's show on Monday.

Miley gave a sleazy performance with Robin Thicke as she danced twerking on his crotch. Gloria Loring, Robin Thicke's mother was equally shocked by Miley's performance.

"I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. ... I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is now I can never 'unsee' it," Loring said expressing her disgust.
