‘Minecraft’ console editions get 2 DLCs, new 1.31 patch with fixes
All console versions of “Minecraft” will be getting two new DLCs. The first to arrive is the Battle Map Pack, which features three competitive maps that can be used only for the Battle Mini Game.
These three maps are Atlantis, Ruin and Siege, according to the official Mojang blog. The image above shows some action happening with the new Battle Map Pack 2. Battle Map lets up to four players battle online or via local split-screen.
The Minecraft Redstone Specialists offers a skin pack for consoles. It first released for the “Minecraft Windows 10 Beta Edition” and “Minecraft Pocket Edition.” As with any other skin packs, players can get some of the skins for free to sample.
Both DLCs are priced at US$2.99 (approx. AU$4). They’re already out for “Minecraft” console editions today, specifically for the PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One and Xbox 360 editions. The Wii U release will happen later in the week.
Mojang has also released a new update, the 1.31 patch, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. this patch primarily adds support for the console versions of the new DLCs. The source has the full patch notes, but there are a lot of fixes to the Battle Mini Game. Primarily, these fixes involve textures, blocks, mob heads and some commands. There will also be some changes for the item textures in City Texture Pack, Fantasy Texture Pac and Greek Mythology Mash-up Pack to make them more identifiable in Battle Mini Games.
Several issues are also addressed by the 1.31 patch. Hills generation, non-performing Blazes, a duplication bug and trophy issues are among the major fixes. The patch also removes the redundant option when creating White Wool in the crafting menu.
The patch also fixes the issue wherein a Pig struck by lightning turns into a Zombie Pigman without a Golden Sword. Player will also finally get the correct death message when they are killed by lightning.
