‘Minecraft’ dev announces Minecon 2016 tickets and details, releases new update 1.26 for PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Xbox platforms
“Minecraft” fans should mark the date May 6 and 7—these will be the selling dates for the Minecon 2016 tickets. The two batches for selling tickets will hopefully solve the time-zone issues, so that everyone in the world will get a fair chance of buying one.
Mojang announced over the official website that the Minecon 2016 will be held on Sept. 24 and 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. As far as attendance goes, the developer is pegging the number to be at 12,000, making this year’s Minecon the biggest to date.
Each ticket will be cost US$160 (approx. AU$205) for adults, as anyone ages three and below will be able to go in for free. Selling will be done via the official Minecon website, linked here, and sold through Eventbrite.
The two batches will have 6,000 tickets sold each day. Selling will start at 6 p.m. PDT on May 6, and 12 p.m. PDT on May 7. To avoid bulk buying, fans can only buy up to six tickets per order, and each ticket should be named under the person whom the ticket will be for. It appears that the developer is also doing everything possible to prevent reselling of tickets, as the details are non-transferrable.
All other frequently asked-for details can be seen in the link above. For “Minecraft” fans who feel that they have a good idea for a panel at the event, Mojang has hinted that it will be bringing a channel through which fans can submit panel ideas. Details for this, however, are still in the works.
“A small Bug Fix Update is rolling out now for Microsoft and Sony platforms,” said 4J Studios over at the official Twitter.
The patch notes for the latest update has been listed over at the official Minecraft Forums. The patch 1.26 has a shorter log than previous updates. For the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS Vita versions, there are only three changes. Guardians are now spawning after loading a save. The developer has also removed change that restricted changing to third-person camera while running or performing other actions, as well as the change that made sprint activation more sensitive.
The PS3 has one other additional change apart from the three aforementioned changes, which is a fix for the Mushroom Block textures.
