Coders Rest In The Office Of Swedish Company Mojang In Stockholm
Coders rest in the Mojang company office in Stockholm January 21, 2013. A pool table, a pinball machine, board games and Lego dot the offices of Mojang, the small Swedish company behind the wildly popular Minecraft video game, and one of its founders is wearing a tuxedo and purple tie on a recent "formal Friday". The atmosphere reflects the independent spirit that has contributed to the raw identity of the game that has just sold 20 million copies. The founders want to keep it that way. Mojang, the Swedish word for gadget, has so far resisted selling to a bigger player or listing on the stock market even though that could mean monster payoffs for the 25-person staff and funding to expand dramatically its games. "Minecraft" developer on consoles 4J Studios has been announcing a couple of new teasers for the different ports of the title. One of the more anticipated teasers is the "Minecraft TU19" that will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.

As seen in the tweet below from the developer, there will be a new tutorial world coming in the next update. Together with the tweet -- but without the sly plushies this time -- a caste is teased in the screenshots. After fans tried to guess what it was, one finally did, citing the Eilean Donan Castle as the model for the teased castle.

Aside from teasing the new castle, the developers did not provide any other detail for the tutorial. The most that fans can expect in relation to the teased castle is that it can be another place that fans can explore in "Minecraft," but until 4J Studios decide to give a few more details, best to keep waiting for more updates.

Some more announcements from the developer includes the new fix coming to North America, which will provide the fix for the DLC issue that has plagued Skyrim and Steampunk packs. This means that fans can now download the versions for the PS3 and PS Vita.

Besides the DLC fixes and the tutorial, there's also an update for Xbox players. It comes in the form of the "Minecraft" Festive Mash-Up Pack, which is out in the U.S. for $2.99. In time for and in tune with the holidays, the new mash-up pack has a holiday thee that brings 36 new skins and new music from C418.

The Xbox Wire has a couple of screenshots of the skins, most of which look like Santa's helpers or little elves with colourful socks and coordinated jackets. You also get a Santa suit and even skier costumes, to really get your "Minecraft" characters in gear with the season.

Apart from the updates on the console version, the "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" has also gotten on another new platform. Adding to the iOS and Android versions, it will also be available on the Windows Phone 8.1 Just like how the title functions for the iOS and Android versions, players using the Windows Phone 8.1 version will also be able to take their "Minecraft" worlds with them anywhere.

Announced over Major Nelson's official blog, the "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" will also include the survival and creative modes. This means all the "Minecraft" fun on the go. And if your Windows Phone device has wi-fi, you can easily jump into multiplayer for combat or crafting. The Windows Phone version of the "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" is available for $6.99.
