The trend of 10 days from Microsoft Cert Testing to release date of the Minecraft Xbox 360 TU 12 (and other major updates that have gone before it) is still in effect until August 20, and fans have been wondering if this was going to be the case for the latest update as well.

While 4J Studios official Twitter hasn't had any activity in a while, 4J Studios News, on the other hand, has something to say about the matter. In response to a fan request asking about the 10-day timeframe, 4J Studios News replied:

"There's a chance of that yes, but I can't say for sure after Cert Testing is complete they set a release date."

As a recap, the Minecraft Xbox 360 TU 12 features a number of additions and bug fixes, putting it at par with a major update, as well as pushing it ever closer to the PC version of the game.

Additions include jungle biomes, ocelots, zombie sieges, village children, abandoned mineshafts, texture packs, mash-up packs, as well as an updated tutorial world for newbies.

Minecraft Weekly News roundup reveals a new zombie game

For those who have been following the weekly news delivered by YouTube user mcspotlights, one thing that fans of developers may want to check out is Markus "Notch" Persson's new zombie FPS game.

Titled Shambles, it is a product of Notch's dabble with 7DFPS, which is a project which only has one challenge: create any first-person shooter game in a span of seven days. Held last August 10 to 17, the product of the 7DFPS is a hundred new games in a course of the week.

"My #7dfps is done, after 8 days of work," was a tweet from Notch's official account.

Bent on having developers "make something" and having a no holds-barred approach when it comes to the creation of the FPS games, this is the ultimate celebration of ideas and creativity.

According to Eurogamer, Shambles is a classic game of retrieving yellow orbs and ammos, avoiding getting attack or shot at by zombies, and basically witnessing zombies get blown to pieces when you shoot at them.

Shambles is now available online for free. It's a fairly rough game, but something much more unexpectedly polished for something made in just a little over a week's worth of time.
