The "Minions" have existed from the time of the dinosaurs. They have always found the best villain of the time to serve, but the only problem was keeping their master alive. Often due to their silliness, their master tends to perish.
This begins with the time when dinosaurs walked the earth. The biggest villain of the time was a T-Rex and they managed to serve the dinosaur until a slip up by one of the "Minions" let to the T-Rex plunging into a volcano.
Over the years the "Minions" have served an Egyptian Pharaoh, Napoleon and Dracula. But all of their efforts ended in disaster, for their masters. With their inability to find a good villain to serve, they decided to settle in Antarctica. But with no villain to serve, they had no purpose in life and soon became depressed.
One of them, Kevin, decides to go in search of a new Villain. He is flanked by the always hungry Stuart and the frightened Bob. In 1968, their journey takes them to New York. They will evaluate one more super villain before they meet Gru.
The main villain in "Minions" is Scarlett Overkill. She and her inventor husband, Herb Overkill, wants to take over the world. Scarlett Overkill will be the first female super villain to threaten the world and Gru will be recruited to stop her scheme.
"Minions" will be facing their own challenge with the objective of saving their kind from extinction. Will Gru and the little creatures become close because of the troubles that they face together? What will compel them to select Gru as the best super villain on the planet?
"Minions" is slated to be released on July 10, 2015. The cast of the movie includes Sandra Bullock as the voice behind Scarlett Overkill, Steve Carell as the voice of Gru, Jon Hamm as the voice of Herb Overkill, Katy Mixon as the voice of Tina and Pierre Coffin as the voice of Kevin, Bob and Stuart.
