Australian supermodel and Victoria's Secret pin up girl Miranda Kerr was one of the models who were featured in Australian photographer Russell James' coffee table book, "Nomad Two Worlds".

In the photo, Miranda Kerr bravely posed naked while climbing a tree. The photo shoot took place in the American desert provided a new challenge for the tomboy turned supermodel.

"There's a lot of trust involved when you ask someone to climb up a tree naked. It was a freezing cold afternoon and it was windy and the sun was going down. I could see Miranda's skin was covered in goosebumps," Russell James shared.

Kerr also shared that she had a slight hesitation at James's idea for the shoot. "But when he explained the meaning behind it and the connection to the indigenous culture, I definitely found the inspiration to climb a tree naked. And the deal was that nothing would show and it would be a very timeless and classy photo."

James took the shot in the Californian desert in five-degree temperature then worked with a Native American artist, Jamie Okuma, who painted over parts of the image. Thus, the photo turned into something similar to a mixed art.

It is a theme throughout the book, in which photography is combined with the paintbrushes of indigenous Australian, Native American and Haitian artists. Miranda Kerr was joined by her fellow Victoria's Secret angels Candace Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio who also posed for James. Moreover, Heidi Klum, Hugh Jackman and the Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio are among other celebrities who volunteered for the project.

Miranda appeared on the book launch of "Nomad Two Worlds" at NYC last Monday night wearing a sheer shirt and an Asian patterned skirt pair with black heels.

James said that his collaboration with the Aussie supermodel came through her long-time support of Nomad Two Worlds, which is an organization he established in Australia in order to develop and promote the careers of indigenous artists, and raise awareness of social issues. Part of the proceeds of the book will be used to fund art projects in indigenous communities.
