Miss Congeniality did not have congenial relationship with all of the contestant in Miss Universe 2010. Jesinta Campbell, who represented Australia in the beauty pageant, claimed that she was backstabbed and her national dress was lined with pins by some contestants in the competition.

"I felt these sharp pains when something stuck into my back. I took the top off and found all these pins had been stuck into it," Jesinta Campbell was quoted as saying in the Herald Sun, referring to her much-mocked national costume.

But the beauty queen was not particularly outraged by the matter although she said that the sabotage was "a bit harsh." Jesinta Campbell handled the matter lightly, even saying that "you have to laugh at these things and not take it too seriously and it did give me a story to tell when I got home."

While it remains unclear who is the culprit behind the harsh sabotage, Campbell said that candidates from Mexico, Central and South American countries and the Philippines were notably aggressive.

"Winning is so important for those girls because they become queens and are worshipped if they win, and it changes everything forever for them, " Campbell told the Herald Sun, referring to the candidates from the above-mentioned countries.

Jesinta Campbell ended second-runner up in the pageant behind Miss Mexico and Miss Jamaica, with Mexico winning the 2010 Miss Universe competition.
