Miss Grand International 2013: 86 Candidates to Compete in Thailand

With the mission to bring the message of peace and harmony to every corner of the world, Miss Grand International 2013 started to kickoff on Nov. 3 for the first edition of the pageant. Contestants started to arrive in Thailand's capital in Bangkok and warming up for the pageant's Preliminary round on Nov. 17; the Coronation Night is scheduled on Nov. 19 to be held at the Beauty Thunder Dome.

Just like the on-going Miss Universe pageant, the Miss Grand International has 86 delegates to represent the countries from across the globe and will compete for the first Miss Grand International title. The winner will have a new residence At The Tower in Midtown area of Bangkok during her reign and she will be the ambassador for peace to eradicate violence and hostility around the world.

The pre-pageant event includes a tour around Thailand's capital famous sights and neighboring cities, the 86 beauty queens will also visit the pageant's sponsor which includes Egyptair, Bangkok Airways, and many more. Pageant's crossover includes Miss Puerto Rico Janelee Chaparro who competed in Miss World 2012, Miss Israel Yael Markovich who competed in Miss International 2012, Miss Pakistan Shanzay Hayat who competed in Miss Earth 2013 and Miss Belarus Veronika Chachina who competed or this year's Miss Supranational.

The pageant aims to become the world's leading international beauty contest under the government's sponsorship and private organizations that will make a stand for the betterment of humanity. The pageant's ideal is to put an end to all forms of violence and hostility, and to start living in a community where religion and race is not an issue. Life is so much better when is at peace.

This will be a star studded event that will feature sensational locations, celebrity guests and innovative approach for this year's pageant.
