Japan, after hosting the Miss International beauty pageant last year, is once again set to welcome "Goodwill Ambassadors of Beauty" to Tokyo for the Miss International 2013 beauty pageant. With the goal to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding, the Miss International contest chooses more than 60 dynamic delegates from all over the world to exchange their cultural and social traditions.

Keeping the spirit of goodwill in mind, this year there are more than 79 contestants who will take part in the Miss International 2013 contest. The pageant activities will commence on December 7 and last year's winner Ikumi Yoshimatsu (Miss Japan) will crown the winner on the final night at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall, Tokyo.

Since Yoshimatsu's surprise win last year, Miss Japan International 2013 Yukiko Takahashi had focused her efforts on retaining the crown. Yukiko Takahashi is an international education graduate and takes pride in teaching kindergarten kids. The 25-year-old beauty queen aims to help children worldwide through education.

Along with competing in the pageant, Takahashi will also play hostess or tour-guide to the other Miss International contestants. When Missoslogy.org asked Takahashi about her plans as the hostess she said,

"I want to take the contestants to Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture which is one area that is still suffering from the aftermath of the March 11, 2011 earthquake. Many people still live in temporary shelters. Needless to say, they have not completely recovered two years after. I guess, we all beauty queens can cheer them up."

Takahashi believes that if she wins the title of Miss International 2013, she will use her prestigious position to save children, even if it is just one child. It is Takahashi's mission to bring peace and prosperity to children worldwide and her noble mission could very well impress the pageant judges.

The final coronation night of Miss International 2013 is on December 17, so stay tuned for further updates.
