Miss International 2013 is the 53rd edition of the Miss International pageant. The contest will take place on December 17, 2013 at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo city, Japan. The pageant will conclude with Miss International 2012 Ikumi Yoshimatsu of Japan crowning her successor. Japan will host the event consecutively for second time.

This contest is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants in the world. The pageant was created in Long Beach, California, USA in 1960 after the departure of the Miss Universe pageant to Miami Beach. Until 1967 hosted in Long Beach then moved to Japan from 1968-1970 and similiar to the Expo '70 the pageant being hosted each year in the same city.

Miss International pageant also called as "Miss International Beauty", this contest is not based on the physical appearance alone but the contestants are expected to serve as "Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty", showing compassion, munificence, amity, splendour, intellect, philanthropy, ability to take action, and, most decisively, a great international sensibility. Hence the ultimate objective of the "Miss International" contest is to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding

Performances by continental region/ country based on number of wins:

1. Americas is on the top of the list by winning the esteemed title for 22 times.

Venezuela has won six titles and Colombia and United States three, Costa Rica and Mexico two, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Panama and Puerto Rico has won the contest once.

2. On the second place is Europe by 20 titles

England/Britain, Poland, and Spain has won the pageant thrice Germany and Norway has won twice, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Holland, Portugal, and Yugoslavia has won the pageant once.

3. On third place is Asia with six wins

Philippines has won the title four times Lebanon and Japan has won once.

4. Oceania is placed forth with winning four titles: three Miss International titles has been won by Australia and one by New Zealand

5. Africa has not won any title yet.
