The ladies are ready to represent their countries in the different national costumes that will be wearing to showcase culture of their nation.

The Miss Universe 2013 pageant has set out to achieve its goal of presenting these women the way they want to showcase the countries they represent. The 86 delegates wore their National Costumes with pride and were able to enjoy showcasing the different costumes that they wore.

From lavish gowns to tunics and headdresses, these women and their designers made sure to upstage each costume and made it harder for the preliminary judges to decide who had the best designed national costume in which their representatives wore best.

Miss Philippines, Ariella Arida in her national costume, the Filipiña. Designed by a Colombian designer, Alfredo Barazza, the Filipiñana ensemble was made for Ariella Arida to wear while strutting her thing down the catwalk.

She looked majestic in the gold made designer national costume. Miss Philippines wowed the crowd with her simple yet elegant Filipiñana. A few feathers as a headdress and she was ready to show the world how she would represent the Philippines.

The question now is, was her National Costume a hit or a miss? The Alfredo Barazza design was made in an elaborate way in order to create an effect when Arida would walk. A slit in the middle would allow it to create waves, the thing is, it did not turn out that way.

The sleeves of the traditional Filipiñana are puffed up in a way but for Ariella Arida, it looked as if she wore an oversized Filipiñana as it did not look like it was made for her.

The colors of the costume were simple and natural, hinting from a light yellow to beige-like white for the top. A little more color would have been better for the Filipiña as it would have awed people with the color.

What do you think about Miss Philippines' national costume?
