In the latest international beauty pageants the Philippines has struck gold and has its eyes set on Miss universe 2013 contest on Nov. 9 where they seek to complete the trifecta.

Ariella "Ara" Hernandez Arida born Nov. 20, 1988, in Alaminos, Laguna is the current Miss Universe-Philippines 2013. She was a runway model and was also a contestant at the Miss Philippines Earth 2012 representing Alaminos, Laguna. Ariella is a chemistry graduate from the University of the Philippines. She loves the outdoors, in particular the beach. Additionally Arida is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo.
