The Philippines' bet to Miss Universe 2013 Ariella 'Ara' Arida has emerged as the most popular contestant after the prelims, based on internet trends and betting polls.

Ara has managed to impress the pageant fans in all the preliminary activities. She looked stunning when she walked the stage in a lime yellow strapless mermaid gown, designed by Columbian designer Alfredo Barazza. Moreover, she "wowed" the crowd even more in her modern Filipina gold gown during the national costume round.

After showcasing her talent in the preliminary round Arida posted on Twitter, "Thank you Lord. Enjoyed the show. Thanks for the feedback guys. Noted. I m so happy."

Ariell Arida is a 25-year-old Laguna born beauty. Before coming to the Miss Universe 2013 competition, she was a runway model and was also a contender at the Miss Philippines Earth 2012.

Ara is chemistry graduate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Borin in Alaminos, Laguna, she is also a sports enthusiast. She loves swimming and playing volleyball and has trained hard to get a perfect bikini body.

Arida was even judged the best in the Miss Universe 2013 preliminary Bikini rounds and in the Ice Princess photoshoot.

Ariella is indeed making her mark in the contest and all Filipinos' hopes are pinned on her. The other top contenders for the pageant are namely, Miss Spain Patricia Rodriguez, Miss USA Erin Brady, Miss Rusia Elmira Abdrazakova, and Miss France Hinarani de Longeaux.

Ara will be fighting for the Miss Universe 2013 crown on Nov.9 at Crocus City Hall, Moscow, Russia.
