Miss Universe 2013: Miss Philippines Ariella Arida Presents her National gift from the Pearl of the Orient Sea for National Gift Auction
Miss Universe pageant is not just about celebrating the beauty of the contestants but it is much more than that. It also celebrates humanity through various charitable alliances. And, of course, by donating gifts at the National Gift Auction event. On Oct. 30, Miss Universe 2013 contestants will gather at Crocus City in Moscow and auction their national gifts.
Miss Philippines Ariella Arida presented her national gift for the event. She uploaded a photograph of what appeared to be a pearl neck piece. The beautiful pearls arrived from Arida's home country Philippines and she proudly showed off the jewels via her Instagram page.
"Presenting to you my national gift from the Pearl of the Orient Sea! One of the biggest pearls was found in the Philippines #MissUniverse #forthephilippines," Ara Arida titled the photograph. The pearls are as gorgeous as Arida. In the photograph, Arida wore faux fur with a ruby neck piece. Her national gift is quite thoughtful and truly represents the land she belongs too. For us, Philippines is a beautiful country with some of the finest beaches on planet Earth; these (pearls) are known to be one of the biggest found in Arida's country. Check out the photo, [here].
The proceeds from the national auction event will go to a charitable trust, and the money will be used for the betterment of the less-fortunate people.
During the National Gift Auction event, the contestants will talk about their gift and share the significance of the same.
Last year, 89 contestants took part in the National Gift Auction at Opportunity Village in Las Vegas. The proceeds were given to Best Buddies International, a non-profit organisation founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver in 1989. It works to create ample opportunities for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
The National Gift Auction is scheduled to take place at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia on Oct. 30, 2013.
