Miss Universe 2013: A Peek Into The Question Answer Round, Who Was The Best?
The Miss Universe international beauty contest kicked off Saturday night at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. Contestants representing 86 countries will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Hundreds of millions of people in over 80 countries are watching it now to cheer for their favorite contestant.
The pageant kicked off by the hosts announcing the Top 16 finalists and it came as a surprise to most people that Miss Russia Elmira Abdrazakova was not in Top 16 in her own country! The 19-year-old was a favorite of judges for the national costume round but did not make to the final cut. Let's take a look at the Question Answer Round
Question for Miss Venezuela was, "What is your biggest fear and how do you plan to overcome it?
Her Answer was: "We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any challenge."
Miss Philippines Ariella Arida made it to the Top 5 and has the strongest cheer from the crowd in Russia too. Her question at the final round was, "What can be done about the lack of jobs for young people starting their careers around the world?"
"I do believe we should invest in education - and that is my primary advocacy. ... Education is a primary source and a ticket for better future," was Ariella's straight and to the point answer.
Question for Spain: "What is the most significant thing we can do help elect women to political offices around the world?"
"In order to select a good woman, she must posses good qualities in order to do a good job - discipline, knows how to adapt... so she can fulfill her job," he winning answer.
Question for Brazil: "What is your opinion in places that do not allow women to vote, or drive cars?"
Miss Brazil Answer: "Good evening everybody! In my opinion, we as women achieved our independence through time. Unfortunately nowadays we still have problems with our independence. But we need to keep our open minds because nowadays we are homemakers, part of a work force. In our country, our president is a woman. We are capable of everything," she answered.
Question for Ecuador: "What would happen to the world if we could no longer use the internet?"
Tech has disadvantages - "We are no longer close with our families. We use the methodology of computers and internet for the positive. It is never too later to start," was her answer.
