The land of Japan is renowned for skilled manga artists who have given us manga series like Fairy Tale, One Piece, Death Note, Berserk, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon and more. Did you know Miss Universe Japan Yukimi Matsuo is a skilled cartoonist herself?

Yukimi revealed that she aspires to become a serialised manga artist. As a matter of fact, she had been drawing manga for quite some time now, mastering on four-panel comics and illustrations. But due to tight modelling schedules, she could not take out time to serialise manga for a magazine.

Things changed last summer when an editor at a web manga magazine invited her to work with him on serialisation. It was like a dream come true for her. Her goal of modelling was accomplished when she won the pageant.

Miss Universe Japan Yukimi dreams of teaching the world how to draw cartoons. According to her, drawing is one of best ways to express one's feelings. During her adolescent days, she was bullied by people. But, she hopes to inspire women to accept their independence and beauty.

She stated that Ai Yazawa of "NANA" and "Paradise Kiss" fame and Moyoco Anno of "Sakuran" and "Sugar Sugar Rune" fame as her role models. When she was asked that what kind of a person admires, she replied that she would love to be with someone who is into manga. So boys, you got the clue, time to brush your manga knowledge if you wish to take Yukimi out on a date.

She eats miso soup everyday as it is her favourite dish. She is a pro in yoga, weight training, belly dancing, swimming and Chinese shadow boxing. She also depicted the image character at Milano Manga Festival.

Miss Universe is scheduled to take place in Moscow on Nov. 9, 2013.
