Miss World 2013: Extremists Threaten To Wreck Contest , Branded As 'Pornography,' 'Whore Contest' [PHOTOS/VIDEOS]
Miss World was first created in the UK in 1951 by Eric Morley and is one of the oldest international beauty pageants. Miss World 2013 will be the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant to be held in September 28, 2013, at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali,Indonesia (19:30-22:00 local time GMT +8). This weekend will witness the final ten contestants parade before millions of viewers in the splendid finale of Miss World 2013. Yu Wenxia of China PR will crown her successor and Miss World 2013 at the end of this event and will be broadcast to more than 180 countries.

www.youtube.com/user/JewishNewsOnBut the charisma and charm of the iconic competition has been overshadowed by an ongoing chorus of disapproval from Muslim extremists. Protestors have threatened to attack the pageant, which they have categorized as 'pornography' and a 'whore contest'.
"Extremist groups may be planning to disrupt the Miss World pageant...potentially through violent means," The US embassy in Jakarta warned according to www.dailymail.co.uk
The complete event is moved now to Hindu-majority Bali, where extremist influence is least due to growing protests.
But some extremists are now saying they will move to Bali to protest.
"We are going to protest against it, because it is unacceptable." Haidar Al-Hamid, head of the East Java province branch of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), told The Jakarta Globe
However, TV network RCTI, which is broadcasting Miss World released the statement:
"We are confident that the police will do everything necessary to ensure safety." Adjie S. Soeratmadjie, corporate secretary of TV network RCTI told according to www.dailymail.co.uk
The organisers have decided that the contestants will not put on bikinis during the 'beach fashion' round of the pageant. Julia Morley, chair of the Miss World Organisation said that the decision to interdict the swimsuit section was taken in order to show 'respect' for the hosts and other participating countries.
"I don't want to upset or get anyone in a situation where we are being disrespectful," Julia Morley, chair of the Miss World Organisation, said.
