This year, the Miss World 2013 is different as there was no swimsuit round. But don't lose your heart as the organizers carried out the traditional round with a twist. The beauties of the world wore one-piece swimwear and covered themselves with a traditional Balinese sarong, instead of the two piece bikini. Nevertheless, the winner Miss Brazil Sancler Frantz looked wonderful as she was declared the winner of the Beach Fashion round.

Frantz looked mesmerising as she donned the black one-piece and complimented the look with a multicoloured blue sarong. Second position was taken by Miss France Marine Lorphelin who chose to wear a zebra print halter neck one-piece and wore her country's flag as the sarong.

Third spot went to Miss Ghana, Naa Okailey Shooter who looked graceful by wearing a combination of black and white, green yellow and multicoloured swimsuit.

Fourth position was taken by Miss Jamaica Gina Hargitay who looked radiant in a bright red one piece swimsuit and yellow green sarong. And fifth spot was filled by the favourite contestant of all Miss Philippines Megan Young who looked sizzling in a black and white swimsuit and blue multicoloured sarong. According to organisers, the change of the decision to scrap the swimsuit round was not based on the fear but to show that the beauty pageant is not just about physical beauty, but also about cultural values.

"There will no bikini in this year's Miss World pageant to respect our traditional customs and values," Adjie S. Soeratmadjie of the RCTI, the official broadcaster and local organizer. The British rooted Miss World Organization is on board with the decision and are happy with the decision.

"Indonesia is designing for us a very beautiful one-piece beachwear, and I'm very happy with them," The chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley told The Associated Press.

"I don't think Indonesia is the only country that has that culture," Morley said. "But we like to work in the manner respectful to every country, and I cannot see why when you go to somebody's country you should not behave respectfully."

All of the more than 130 contestants wore Bali's traditional long sarongs instead of the sexy bikinis that are historically part of the competition and organizers had tough time choosing the finalists.

"After the second round of the contest, we picked our top 10. However, the judges couldn't decide who to put through as the 10th finalist, so they put through both of them!," the organizers wrote on the Web site.

Many contestants expressed their liking to the concept of donning the sarong and looked fabulous as they posed in pictures on the beach.

"I think it shows that Miss World is a beauty pageant that not only just looks at physique, but also the heart. Thus, the concept of sarong is very nice," said Vania Larissa, a representative of Miss Indonesia 2013.
