"Lost" star Josh Holloway is the latest Hollywood actor to join the fourth installment in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise. Holloway is reportedly in final negotiations to co-star in the spy thriller.

The Hollywood Reporter said Holloway will play a member of the Ethan Hunt's secret agent task force in Mission: Impossible 4. Holloway joins newcomers Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov and other Mission: Impossible franchise veterans Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg. The film will be directed by Brad Byrd with Paramount as film producer.

Production is set to begin this fall in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai.

It was previously reported that that the Hollywood studio was also looking for an actor who might be able to continue on with the franchise should Cruise choose not to return in the future. Holloway is the latest to join the roster of possible replacement for Ethan Hunt, but he has a tough competition from Jeremy Renner, whom Paramount thinks possess "a Daniel Craig quality."
