'Mission: Impossible- Fallout': Halo jump scene includes Henry Cavill
A new clip from “Mission: Impossible- Fallout” has been released online. The scene shows one of the big stunts in the film, which shows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and August Walker (Henry Cavill) jump off from a plane.
What was previously thought to be a stunt of just Cruise has now turned out to be something that even Cavill is involved in. The new clip that has been release online [see below] shows how the two actors jump off from a plane in a Halo jump.
A Halo jump involves soldiers jumping from a plane at low altitude in order to infiltrate enemy territory, without making their presence known to the enemy. They have to open their parachute at the last minute to make sure that the enemy radars don’t detect their entry.
Previously, a behind-the-scenes video was released online, showing how Cruise and the production team pulled of this important stunt. Like all his other stunts, Cruise took the pains to film this scene himself, without using a body double.
The two actors can be seen in a special suit and a mask. The scene also teases the antagonistic relationship between the two characters. While Ethan is someone who takes a step only after careful planning and consideration, August seems to be a man of action who takes the plunge before thinking too hard.
Cavill may be working in other action oriented roles, but he is primarily famous for playing Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Square Mile the actor spoke about how there is still a lot of opportunity to continue to tell stories about the superhero, and inspire the fans with stories of hope to make people believe in themselves.
“Mission: Impossible- Fallout” has been directed by Christopher McQuarrie. The film is set to be released on Aug. 2 in Australia.
