Nelson Cruz's asking price has reportedly scared off several teams, a source close to situation reported on Monday.

Cruz, who is coming off a 50-game suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis PED scandal, is reportedly demanding a four-year deal worth around $70 million.

According to Real GM, teams are not convinced Cruz is worth of that amount of money because he's not just a pure hitter. Jhonny Peralta, who is also coming off PED-associated suspension, is expected to draw more interest than Cruz because of his ability to produce hits efficiently.

"The feeling is Peralta is more of a pure hitter than a power hitter, and less risky," said a National League general manager. "Cruz hits for more power. Someone will sign him and take the chance, but Melky Cabrera is always in the back of your mind."
