The Los Angeles Angels are reportedly interested to join the Masahiro Tanaka sweepstakes, although general manager Jerry Dipoto won't confirm the news.

The Angels have been spending big money as of late after signing Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton to lucrative contracts. Many baseball insiders believed the Angels have the capacity to pull off a shocker in the Tanaka sweepstakes, despite the presence of New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers in the market.

"It's not fair to the player or the organization to openly discuss free agents," Jerry Dipoto said via Real GM.

With a loaded batting rotation, the Angels admitted that their priority is to solidify their pitching lineup to make them a playoff bound team next season.
