Mixed martial arts fighter War Machine was arrested by authorities in Southern California last Friday for beating up his ex-girlfriend. Christy Mack, an adult film star suffered 18 broken bones, a lacerated liver, a fractured rib and a broken leg that made it hard for her to walk on her own. He reportedly also assaulted an unidentified male at Mack's Las Vegas home.

According to Sports Illustrated, War Machine who legally goes by the name of Jon Koppenhaver was taken into police custody after a warrant for his arrest was issued charging him with several counts of battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

According to statement she released via Twitter, Mack arrived at her home at around 2 a.m. of Friday when Koppenhaver confronted them, assaulted his male companion and turned his attention to her. She also took to the social media site her gratitude for the support she gained from the public, in particular a doctor who offered to fix her teeth.

Koppenhaver, the Simi Valley native, claimed that it was Mack's friend who assaulted him first and that he went to her house to originally propose to marry her. The 32-year old fighter is also a former porn actor said that he was not a bad guy. This comes after he has some history with violence and drug addiction as claimed by Mack.

"I'm not a bad guy, I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life," the man known as War Machine wrote on Twitter.

The welterweight fighter was arrested in a hotel room in Los Angeles. Authorities bared that it was a joint effort of the Department of Homeland Secutiry and the U.S. Marshalls which made the immediate capture of the fugitive a success. He is currently booked at Ventura Couty jail and will be extracted to Nevada.
