The big screen adaptation of the second part of the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, “Fifty Shades Darker,” is reportedly set to hit theatres in 2017, but various roles have yet to be filled. Speculations about the new actors joining the cast of the flick has been doing the rounds online for a while now. According to the latest buzz, model Cara Delevingne may be tapped for a role in the sequel of “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Fashion & Style revealed that Delevingne is a good fit for the role of Christian Grey's former troubled submissive, Leila Williams. Nothing has been confirmed officially by the actress or the movie production, but fans are said to be rooting for Delevingne’s inclusion in the film. The website has even listed a few reasons why the 23-year-old model is perfect for the said role. If she bags the role, Delevingne will be seen stalking Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) in the movie.

"I always wanted to act, from when I was 4 years old. When I was younger, I hated myself, so I preferred being other people," Delevingne previously said, expressing her love for acting, in an interview with The New York Times.

The young actress has played a few blink-and-miss roles in movies and was also part of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video. She last appeared in the big screen adaptation of John Green's novel, “Paper Towns,” which was released on July 24. The film became a huge hit as it raked in US$12,650,140 (AU$17702408.45) on the opening weekend itself in the United States alone.

Meanwhile, the possibility of Charlize Theron bagging a role in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel was also revealed by E! News in July. It was speculated that Theron would play Elena Lincoln a.k.a. Mrs. Robinson. However, she slammed the rumours later on.

A lot is being said about the delayed production of “Fifty Shades Darker” too, and the film has now reportedly been postponed for a 2017 release. Jamie Dornan and Johnson Dakota are set to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia "Ana" Steele, along with Rita Ora, who played Grey’s sister Mia Grey, in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Independent has previously reported that the movie has a new director, James Foley, as the prequel’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, bowed out of the project over creative differences with the book’s author E.L. James.
