‘Modern Family’ Cast Going To Australia, Possibly Shooting At The Sydney Harbour Bridge
The cast of “Modern Family” are going to Australia to shoot an episode, and they might have just been given clues on where exactly they are heading.
According to the Daily Telegraph, it appears that the award-winning ensemble would be going to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and dealing with snakes.
“We have been asked, ‘Were you afraid of heights? Were you afraid of fanged animals?’” Julie Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy in the series, told the reporters backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Her onscreen husband, Ty Burrell, who plays Phil Dunphy, quipped, “I thought we were going to Austria.”
Australia is the first out-of-country destination of the TV family. They will be Down Under for two weeks in February to film.
But before that, the cast will be shooting in Las Vegas first.
TV Guide reported that the six adult cast members of the show – Bowen, Burrell, Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet – will fly to Vegas this January to shoot an episode.
They will be joined by “Saturday Night Live” star Fred Armisen, who will play one half of a gay couple who will be hanging out with Mitch and Cam (Ferguson and Stonestreet). Patton Oswalt will also be appearing in the episode. He will “play a magician named Ducky Schindler who crosses paths with Phil.”
“Modern Family” won Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series, while Burrell took home the gong for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series at the SAG Awards on Saturday. Bowen was also nominated for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series, but lost out to Julia Louis-Dreyfus for “Veep.”
