The hilarity continues in "Modern Family" as the Emmy Award-winning series moves forward in its sixth season with the second episode entitled "Do Not Push." In the Delgado-Pritchett household, it's all about Jay and Gloria pushing each other toward the kind of gift that they each want to receive on their anniversary. As expected, they have completely different ideas.

Jay came home with his gift for Gloria and saw Gloria's son Manny sitting with a present on the table and immediately realizes just by looking at the box that it's Gloria's anniversary gift for him. He asked Manny what it is but he refused to divulge the information. Looking at the box, Jay guessed that it's probably the expensive watch that he wanted. He opened up to Manny and told him that he's anxious about the gift that he got his wife.

Jay explained that he had been attending a pottery class for a few weeks and his present is something that he made in the class. He showed it to Manny and said that he made Gloria a bunny because it was his nickname for her when they first started going out. He explained the sentimental value and Manny, being a sensitive boy, assured him that Gloria will appreciate it. Jay is doubtful and said that Gloria isn't sensitive like him and Manny. They both decided to give it a try anyway.

Gloria finally arrived and Jay handed her the clay bunny. She looked puzzled and asked him what it is. He said that it's a little rough around the edges but he's hoping Gloria would love what he put into it. He meant the love and effort, but Gloria assumed there was a surprise inside. She smashed it against the table only to discover that it is of course, empty. Jay then said that the store forgot to put in the bracelet that Gloria wanted and he'll run off to the store to get it.

Manny tried to stop him but he walked hurriedly outside. Manny then explained to Gloria that Jay made the effort to make that bunny himself and told her about the nickname back story. She felt devastated and rushed off to find some glue to put the broken bunny back together.

Jay eventually returned with the bracelet and Gloria stopped him before he could give it to her. She showed him the newly repaired bunny and told him how much she appreciated the gesture. Jay was pleased to see that she finally came around and said he will then return the bracelet.

Gloria then busted out her present, which Jay was expecting to be the watch. To his surprise, she changed it and gave him a bookmark that she made out of the movie tickets for the first movie they ever saw together. Jay was visibly shocked and disappointed. Gloria pointed out that it's great that they have decided to go the sentimental route and she will just return the watch. Jay confirmed if it was in fact the watch that he wanted and Gloria also asked if it was the rose gold bracelet that she was lusting after. Manny heard the two of them and eventually said that they should just keep the expensive gifts. In the end, they each got what they wanted but not before some subtle nudging in the right direction.

Meanwhile, the Tucker-Pritchetts are having trouble taking a family portrait because Lily's smile looks weird to Cam and Mitch. The Dunphys are in Caltech for a college tour for Alex, and Claire learns that she shouldn't push her daughter to choose a college that she prefers.
