ABC's 'Modern Family' Cast And Crew

In this week's episode of "Modern Family," Jay Pritchett had a eureka moment and thought that he found a promising new innovation that would revolutionise the closet industry. His mood went sour when he discovered that his stepson Manny is dating the granddaughter of his biggest enemy and business rival.

Jay runs a successful company that produces closets, and while messing around with a soda box, he discovered that it can be used like a dispenser that would rotate your socks so you are not using the same ones all the time from the top of your drawer. He decided to call it "Sock It To Me" and he's convinced it's the next big thing in the industry.

Meanwhle, as he was telling Gloria about the innovation, Manny walked in with his new girlfriend, Sophie. Manny introduced him to Jay and she noticed his invention. She figured out what it was and praised him for his creativity. She then said that her grandfather is also in the closet industry that's why she's interested in it.

Jay then discovered that Manny's new girlfriend is actually the granddaughter of his former business partner who screwed him over to start his own company. Earl Chambers not only left their partnership, he also took their clients with him. His departure forced Jay to work his way back up again from nothing.

Because of this discovery, Jay became furious with Manny for bringing her into their home. Manny said that he had no idea who her grandfather was and they just met in a theatre group. Jay became paranoid thinking that Sophie might give his idea for the "Sock It To Me" to his rival. He forbid Manny from dating Sophie, which then made Gloria mad.

Gloria tried to get Jay and Earl to reconcile through a dinner setup. When the two came face to face, they started arguing again and they blew up at each other. Jay accused Sophie of spying and he revealed that she is dating his stepson. The idea freaked Earl out and he eventually came over to apologise to Jay, thinking it would be the best way to keep Manny away from his granddaughter.

When he came to Jay's house to apologise, he met Many and saw that he's a softie and not the young hormonal stud that Jay painted him out to be. He saw that his granddaughter can't be in any danger with Manny and he started to mock Jay once again and the feud between the two just became stronger than ever.
