'Modern Family' Episode 5 Spoilers: Steve Zahn Guest Stars In 'Won't You Be Our Neighbor'
Several guest stars will be making the first of their appearances in episode 5 of this season's "Modern Family" titled "Won't You Be Our Neighbor." The Dunphy Family encounters new neighbours from hell in this new episode on season 6 played by Steve Zahn and Andrea Anders. [Warning: Spoilers Alert!]
Phil Dunphy, who is a real estate agent, is left with the task of selling the house next door. He and his wife Claire were initially excited to have a fresh set of neighbours until they meet the couple that's interested in the house. The new neighbours are described as loud and obnoxious by ABC Medianet and the Dunphys make hilarious attempts at dissuading them from purchasing the house and moving in.
Steve Zahn plays Ronnie while Andrea Anders plays Ronnie's wife Kim. They are looking into moving into the house next door and the Dunphys can already see that they are going to be neighbours from hell. When the announcement was made about Zahn's guest role, it was described as a recurring guesting, which might be a clue toward the success, or lack thereof, of the Dunphys' attempt at keeping him and his family out of the house next door.
Meanwhile, after Manny got over his initial heartbreak caused by his first girlfriend who dumped him in the last episode, he's quickly moving on with a new girl. Jay comforted Manny when he got dumped the first time but there is no way that he's going to allow him to continue seeing his new girl when Jay discovers that she's the granddaughter of his biggest business rival.
Over at the Tucker-Pritchett household, Mitch and Cam are facing their own dilemma. Tyne Daly, who guest stars as Lily's new teacher, Mrs. Plank, is known to be very strict. She rules with an iron fist and she scares the children, and, admittedly, Mitch and Cam as well. They are determined to switch Lily out of that class and it remains to be seen what happens.
"Won't You Be Our Neighbor" is the fifth episode of the current season of Emmy Award Winning Series "Modern Family" which is gunning for its sixth consecutive "Best Comedy Series" award in next year's Primetime Emmy Awards. It is currently tied with "Frasier" at 5 awards. The series airs Wednesdays on ABC.
